How to select the perfect items for your boudoir photoshoot!
A boudoir photoshoot is the perfect opportunity to celebrate your body and treat yourself to something beautiful and empowering. Whether you're gifting these photos to a special someone or just doing it for yourself, selecting the perfect wardrobe is key to feeling confident and comfortable during your session.
First and foremost, when choosing your wardrobe for your boudoir photoshoot, it's important to select pieces that make you feel comfortable and confident. This is your time to shine, so make sure to choose outfits that reflect your personal style and make you feel beautiful. Don't be afraid to treat yourself to something new and special - investing in a gorgeous lingerie set or a sultry body suit can amp up your confidence and make you feel incredible.
If you're not sure where to start, don’t worry! Let me know when you are going shopping or if you’d like to schedule a phone call and we can discuss it together. I also offer a client wardrobe with a selection of accessories that can help complement the base elements of your outfit. From lacy kimonos to silky robes, these added touches can elevate your look and make you feel like a true bombshell.
When selecting your outfits, always make the focus you. Consider choosing pieces that highlight your favourite parts of yourself. If you want to accentuate your curves, opt for lingerie sets that emphasise your bust and hips. Body suits are a popular choice at the moment, as they provide coverage for those who may not want to focus on their tummy area but also draw focus to areas like your stunning curves and bust. Lace is always a hit in boudoir photography, I am obsessed with anything with lace and it always ads a touch of elegance and sophistication to your ensemble. Whatever you decide to wear you need to feel comfortable in it. And when I say comfortable I understand that lingerie is not inherently comfortable, but comfortable in front of the camera and comfortable when you look at yourself in the mirror.
Colour is also important! And while I have suggestions on what to wear depending on the spaces we use, it is also important that the colour complements you and who you are. If I suggest pastels and you hate pastels - do not wear pastels! Tell me “I hate pastels” and I will suggest something else. I can make anything work! And when in doubt - black always works, always. No matter where we are black will work.
If you are doing this to give a gift to your partner consider at least one outfit that they particularly like. If you partner is a man, I am not going to sugarcoat this - men have strange tastes in lingerie. They tend to like things that are really really bright, the more fluorescent the happier they are. And that is fine, we will make sure we include their choices in the shoot one way or another!
Remember, the most important thing is to choose outfits that make you feel beautiful and confident. Your boudoir photoshoot is all about celebrating your unique beauty and capturing stunning images that you'll cherish for a lifetime. So go ahead, treat yourself to something gorgeous, embrace your body, and get ready to slay your boudoir session because I already think you are amazing!
